Dr. Austin Pitcher, MD PhD

Dr. Pitcher is a board certified, fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon. He developed a special interest in upper extremity surgery including the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder during his residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California San Francisco. Following residency, he went on to complete fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Pitcher is fully versed in nerve and tendon repairs and reconstructive procedures, complex fracture fixation, joint arthroscopy, treatment of arthritis, and treatment of all other shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist injuries.

His special interests include management of all hand, wrist and elbow conditions. This includes nerve and tendon injuries in both the general and athletic populations. He also treats all common conditions of the upper extremity including carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, thumb arthritis, fractures, and shoulder injuries

Dr. Pitcher is experienced with treatment of all upper extremity musculoskeletal problems. This includes problems ranging from complex nerve, tendon, and bone injuries as well as more common pathologies such as trigger fingers, carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder and rotator cuff injuries, and thumb arthritis. He is well versed in the surgical and non-surgical treatments for these problems, and will work with you to determine the best treatment for your specific injury and goals.
